Time Management

"TIME MANAGEMENT is the approach to decide and manage time, in order to improve productivity in accomplishing short, mid- and long-term goals."

Time management is one of the most gratifying skills that will take you far in your life - both personal and professional. One of the most efficient skills you can have in life is effective and powerful time management. If you're not properly managing your time, there will be no way you're going to grasp your goals at work and life outside of it. Sure, you might make some progress. But the way you manage your time will be an uphill battle if you don't take your time seriously.

We all have 24-hours in a day. But, why does it seem that some people can get the most out of every minute of the day? Believe it or not, they don't have the power to slow time. However, they do know how to properly manage their time.

TIPS FOR TIME MANAGEMENT:

1. Wake-Up Early

All of us have 24 hours a day. Though it's not possible to change the number of hours in a day or show the time, you can definitely try waking up a little earlier and your day longer than others.
As we know, our body requires 6-8 hours of sleep to be at our optimum energy levels.
By waking up early you can get additional time to exercise, meditate, study, or even to pursue a hobby.

2. Spend Your Morning On MITs (Most Important Tasks)

Doing that one big task in the morning will make your day more productive and will keep you free from stress. By tackling the most important task will make a lot of difference in your day.
Managing your time and prioritizing things both work together. You can make time management easy and effective by knowing what to do when?  The conclusion is that to take up a hard or time- consuming task, accomplish it, and focus on other things.
For starters, you usually have the most amount of energy in the AM. So it's better to tackle these tasks when you're not drained.

3. Plan Your Week On Sunday

Take a few minutes on the weekend to create a plan for your whole week. Then break your weekly goals into daily tasks to cure procrastination. By doing this you can easily transition your weekly productivity. You only need to scan that list while working.
By prioritizing your work will help you stay focused for the week. Changing your carefree weekend mindset to a productive Monday morning will make the most output of your time.

4. Plan Ahead

One of the worst things that you can do is wake-up without a plan for the day. Instead of focusing on what needs to be done, you wander aimlessly and take care of more trivial matters. That's why you should always plan ahead.
Before you leave all work and go to sleep, spend the last 15-minutes organizing your workspace and composing a list of your most important work for tomorrow.

5. Discover Your Zone

You must have observed that at individual hours you are as focused as an eagle and your productivity blooms like anything. It happens when your mind is a complete melody with the external conditions.
Discovering your zone can directly contribute to the right utilization of your time. It helps you reach an optimal state of apprehension when you feel and perform your best.

6. Set A Time Limit To Each Task

By setting time constraints on the tasks, you will focus more and work more efficiently. Setting a time limit to each task prevents people from getting distracted or procrastinating.
In a way, it becomes a game. If you put breaks between tasks and activities and didn't complete the task on time you can still work on it without eating into the time reserved for something else.

7. Set SMART Goals

Set goals that are SMART - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. These goals would bring a solid structure to your work life and prepare you for what's in store for your day.
If you set your goals the priority way your productivity could reach another level.

8. Eliminate Half-Work

In our age of uninterrupted distraction, it's not easy to split our concentration between what we should be doing and what we are doing. Usually, we're balancing the needs of emails, messages, and to-do lists at the same time that we are trying to get something proficient. It's rare that we are fully committed to the task at hand.
Regardless of where and how you fall into the trap of half-work, the result is always the same.
The best way to overcome half-work is by blocking out momentous time to focus on one project and eliminate everything else. Stay away from all your distraction for that interval of time.

9. Take Small Breaks Frequently

It may sound counterintuitive but breaks are one of the most effective time management strategies. Jumping immediately from one task to the next may seem like the best use of time, but it actually has a negative effect. We need time to clear our mind and recharge by going for a walk, meditating, or just daydreaming. After all, the human brain can only focus on about 90 minutes at a time (depends on person to person).
Without that break, it's more difficult to stay focused and motivated. Scheduling buffer-time also can prevent running late for your next task.
Smart time management isn't regarding doing something or the other. It also emphasizes the fact that little breaks after an hour or so can take your productivity to another level.

10. Quality Over Quantity - No Multitasking

If you pride yourself on juggling too many tasks at once, here's news for you. Research suggests that only 98% of people, multitasking, are actually wasting their time and lessening their overall productivity. For the remaining 2% of people can multitask effectively.
Instead of dividing your attention into three different things, it's better to focus entirely on one thing and marvel at it to make it more effective.
But you can multitask in your daily chores to get extra time.

There's no big secret to effective time management. It involves making decisions about what acts on now, later or even never.

BONUS TIP:-
Start tracking your time either with a time tracking tool or manually. You get to know where and how every hour is being spent at work in order to better time management. People who like to keep track of things are usually focused, productive, and organized.
