The 4D System

If you're struggling to take charge of the day, consider using a popular productivity strategy known as the 4Ds of effective time management.
These 4Ds refer to DO, DELETE, DEFER, DELEGATE.

Let's discuss them in brief:
DELETE (You can dump the task altogether):
There are always some tasks that could be simply deleted from your list because they don't require your full attention.

DEFER (You can defer the task to another time):
Not everything is supposed to be done immediately. If there is something that could be done later and has repercussions, defer it.

DELEGATE (You can delegate the task to someone else):
If someone can do something - even 65% as well as you, delegate it to him. If there ain't no one you could delegate to work, you can either start training him or even outsource the task.

DO (You can do the task yourself):
If there is something important to do and you have the time to do it, get it done there and then.

You can easily practice this technique by asking some questions.
Question 1: Can I dump it?
Question 2: Can I defer it?
Question 3: Can I delegate it?
If the answer is no, no, no, then just do it.
