How To Overcome Procrastination?
"PROCRASTINATION is the avoidance of a task that needs to be accomplished by a certain deadline. It could be further stated as a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing it might have negative consequences."
Are you those who forget to complete that new year resolution you take on the new year or the goals of life which you decide for a successful life but forget in the long term? If you are having difficulty with doing things or not feeling like doing stuff you care about? This is all because of procrastination, delaying work is not the solution. So, here I will share with you 10 tips to stop procrastinating and get the things done. Let's discuss procrastination and some tips to overcome that.
Everyone has procrastinated over something in their life. It's a trap that we all fall into from time to time.
The main key to overcome procrastination is to understand why we procrastinate so that when procrastination strikes you have to take action on.
TIPS TO OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION:
1. The "2-minute" Rule
I first read this rule in the book "ATOMIC HABITS by James Clear".
The 2- Minute Rule states that "When you start a new habit, it should take less than 2 minutes to do or start. It's a simple way to make our habits easy.
Example:- 'Going for running' becomes 'Tie my sports shoes'.
The point is not to do one thing but the point is to master the habit of showing up. The truth is, a habit must be established before it can be mastered. Most of the big goals task take less than 2 minutes to be set in motion.
Or whenever you have got a task that you're thinking of putting off for later, ask yourself that 'How long will this take?'. If the answer is two or less, then do it right away.
2. Divide Big Task Into Small Task
3. To-Do List
A To-do list is a great way to stay on track for the entire day. It helps to loosen the grip of procrastination and laziness. By check-marking, the task done in the to-do list encourages us to complete the entire list and get things done. And always prioritize your to-do list for better productivity.
4. Do The Hardest Task First
5. The Pareto Principle ( 80/20 rule )
The Pareto principle (also known as the 80/20 rule) states that for many events roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.
If you look at the activities that are completed during the day, you will find that the top 20% of your daily activities will result in 80% of the results that you achieve.
It is easy for general tasks to slip in and keep us distracted from the things that can move us forward in success, and many people find themselves slipping back into old habits of procrastination instead of focusing on the 20% that will propel you forward.
BONUS TIP:-
Reviewing the to-do list every night will make you more productive for the next day.

By seeing the big task, the mind usually procrastinates the work. So, dividing the big task into small tasks will help to do that work instantly without delaying it.
3. To-Do List
4. Do The Hardest Task First
The hardest task that you need to do is the one that you are most likely to procrastinate or get lazy about. So, doing it first and completing it will make you feel good and more productive throughout the day.
But if you start the easier task first then on completion of the easier task, the harder task will become even more tricky to do. And you end up procrastinating on that task.5. The Pareto Principle ( 80/20 rule )
